Crimewave have developed a unique intelligence system as part of our fully managed security and crime prevention service – which identifies incidents or information from open source that is relevant to the areas where our cameras are or could be situated, allowing us to maximise the efficiency and value of our client service offer to a wide number of partner organisations.

In the daily process of our ongoing project work, our team coordinates our activities with multiple authorities and partners, as well as conducting a deep mining of local and national media and social media channels, gathering important live data and information on a wide range of security-related issues, from anti-social behaviour incidents in our communities, to violence against women and girls, to traffic and highways related incidents.

This latest data is then profiled and linked to specific areas where our cameras are located, and to wider partner surveillance systems on our network. And it also gives us the valuable new insight to tactically deploy cameras to new areas of concern. From this we can interrogate and gather intelligence which would otherwise have remained hidden, and often in advance of specific incidents being reported to the police.

As part of this process, we ensure relevant Authorities know where our cameras are located so that evidence can be gathered relating to specific issues that may concern them. This could be for example ensuring the Police know the locations of our cameras on their specific DEMs system, or it could be different Local Authority Departments where specific incidents of relevance to them can be linked to our online platform mapping system showing location of the full camera network.

Our surveillance team review all types of incidents from all cameras including ours. This research also provides important information on incidents that are reported online but not necessarily to the right Authority, such as the Police.
