Dangerous Junction - Milton Keynes

Our client challenge and requirement:

Milton Keynes Council had received numerous reports of dangerous maneuvers and incidents at a particular major junction in Milton Keynes. Our challenge was to deliver appropriate targeted surveillance and independently study all traffic movements at this junction. From this we were able to build an evidence based report to enable Highways designers and engineers to provide the required solutions.

Our Process

We conducted an in depth study at this location which included specific manoeuver traffic counts at different periods of the day.

We surveyed and installed our camera systems and configured the camera system specifically for the environment and purpose it was installed, to ensure the highest quality results could be achieved. As we do for every location.

Our trained CCTV analysts reviewed all footage which highlighted dangerous and concerning manoeuvers, and which clearly evidenced risks on this 70 mph dual carriageway.

Our analysts conducted a lengthy study of this area and produced a clear report and evidence detailing the studies findings.

We liaised with all contractors and stakeholders throughout the duration of the project, including the installation and removal of the surveillance systems.

Outcome and client benefit:

The Council found that our report clearly demonstrated regular dangerous manouvers which enabled decision makers to completely redesign this junction.
